4K African Animals: Hwange National Park - Amazing African Wildlife Footage with Real Sounds in 4K Hwange National Park is home to the Big Five - the name given to the royal safari that includes elephants, buffaloes, rhinos, lions and leopards. In particular, the park is famous for its thriving elephant population, which is said to be one of the largest in the world. Huge herds of buffalo roam the vast plains, while the park’s lion population is estimated at 450 individuals. Hwange is home to more than 100 species of mammals, including some of the rarest species in South Africa. Among the most notable of these is the South African jaguar, listed as Vulnerable on the IUCN Red List; and the rarest of all hyena species, the brown hyena. Hwange National Park also provides refuge for the endangered African wild dog. Only 6,600 of these beautiful animals remain, and Hwange’s population is one of the largest.
