1812 Overture - Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky

Tchaikovsky’s Op. 49: The Year 1812, Solemn Overture The name of the painting is: French Troops Crossing the Berezina River, by German painter, Peter Heinrich Lambert von Hess (Since Tchaikovsky wrote this to commemorate the successful Russian defense against Napoleon I’s invading Grande Armée in 1812, i thought it would be fitting to pair it with a painting depicting a scene from the retreat of the French army. Before you say anything, know that I’m not taking sides in the conflict so relax and enjoy the music)
