WAYS I INCREASE MY INCOME TO BE A FULL TIME ABSTRACT ARTIST

I need to be sure that I would be able to increase my income to be a full-time abstract artist. Also being patient and knowing when it was the right time to quit my job and become a full-time artist was important. It was one of the most difficult decisions I have ever had to make. I do think since I was working from home because of Covid it made me realize much faster that I couldn’t handle working my day job anymore. But how could I possibly give up guaranteed income and depend solely on the sales of my art? Being a full-time artist takes being inventive and trust in your ability to be able to make a living as an artist and a leap of faith. Being the artist that I am I wanted or I should say I need more of a guarantee that I could do this and not lose the shirt off my back. I started looking into different revenue streams so that I could supplement my full-time artist income if I needed to. I talk about making Giclee prints and how they helped a few years back and I also discuss having the support of Art Galleries which helps me to sell my artwork for me. I know we all would like to have 100% percent of the sales, but just being able to paint and drop off or ship paintings to a gallery and receive pay cheques in the mail is a pretty sweet gig if I’m being honest. Lastly, I share that having a monetized youtube channel also helped to ease my fear of leaving my job and ensuring that paying my bills every month would be less of a burden.
