I’ve been writing quite a few songs lately about the general idea of making your own decisions and individualism. Those are certainly not new ideas but for many reasons, I think they are ideas that I really need to hear & embrace at this age & stage of my life and music career. Also, any time you can make a reference to Joan Jett and The Who in the first verse, it’s probably gonna be a fun song :) I did the usual on this effort and recorded all the instruments, vocals, mixed and produced this song myself in my basement home studio but I did get the song professionally mastered. I often put my own mastering chain together for my recordings but lately, I’ve been quite pleased with the mastering work that others have been doing on my songs. Also in true Nashville fashion, this song was not one I wrote by myself but a co-writing effort with myself & three others.
