Mallet Collective performs Canto Ostinato - livestream Concert at TROMP Percussion 2020

On November 18th 2020 this live stream concert took place in the recital hall of Muziekgebouw Eindhoven (NL) during the Online Edition of TROMP Percussion 2020. Mallet Collective is an ensemble consisting of like-minded mallet artists, all linked within the Percussion Friends Foundation; an international organisation focussing on coaching, inspiring and connecting percussionists from all over over the world. LINE UP: Vincent Houdijk & Georgi Tsenov - vibraphones Arjan Jongsma & Maikel Claessens - marimbas Ramon Lormans - marimba & lead Canto Ostinato is the most performed and famous Dutch Minimal Work composed (between 1973-1976) by Simeon Ten Holt. He created it by playing on the keyboard and preferred to refer to the structure as the development of a genetic code. Ten Holt created more than a hundred separate short sections in B-flat minor of a few measures. In the end, it was composer Andries Hubers who put the sections together into a score.
