How Recycled Plastic Combs Are Made

We’ve made more combs this year than any other product, all thanks to this beast of a mould we had made to help speed up our output. This one has 2 injections points, producing a total of 3 long combs and 2 short with each cycle. The colourway you’re seeing us use here is called ‘Jungle Haze’ which is an HDPE blend made up from post consumer waste. The green and blue comes from bottle tops, the yellow comes from bleach containers and the white is typically shampoo, probiotic of cleaning product bottles. We redesigned these combs last year to improve the moulding time as well as the comfort when using. Because these are 100% separated plastic, they are fully recyclable, which is why we stamp the Resin ID code on. These work great as detangling combs, shower combs (since they’re completely waterproof and won’t react with any hair products!) or an every day carry comb.
