Kayakers rescue man swimming above Great Falls

This is by far the stupidest thing I’ve seen in my kayaking career so far. As we were paddling down Fish Ladder on Great Falls of the Potomac on a beautiful July 4th, we spotted a women holding onto a man who was in the current above a class 5 section of whitewater. This section is especially dangerous due to very fast moving water combined with swallow rocks and some rebar. Luckily I decided to take my throw rope with me this morning. What followed the rescue was what the man would’ve been swimming down. P
