British Military Police lead metal detecting dogs, trained especially to smell out mines etc., buried under the ground, to a Jewish settlement in Palestine. They are searching for hidden arms. M/S as the dogs sniff at the ground. M/S as British soldiers dig with picks and shovels. Chile. M/S of a small whaling ship at sea, C/U of harpoon. They fire it and it hits a whale. The wounded whale tosses and turns in the sea as the whalers struggle to pull it into the side of the ship. Fishermen pull the ropes to secure it to the side of the ship. C/U of the whale and fishermen on shore. They skin the whale and wash it with the aid of scrubbing brushes. The skin of the whale is dragged clear and pushed into a hole in the ground. Rome, Italy. C/U of a large pile of Italian lire notes stacked high ready for burning in an attempt to stop inflation, they will be replaced with coins. C/U of men throwing the notes into a blazing furna
