Ambrose and His Orchestra – The Peanut Vendor

I’ve yet to find a copy of this that isn’t worn. Recorded in Hayes on February 12th 1931 Personnel: Sylvester Ahola and Dennis Radcliffe-trumpet / Ted Heath-trombone / Jack Shields, Joe Jeanette, Joe Crossman-reeds / Eric Siday and Jean Pougnet-violins ’ Bert Read-piano / Joe Brannelly-guitar / Dick Escott-string bass / Max Bacon-drums / Sam Browne-vocal. Played on a Garrard 401 classic turntable with an SME 3009 tonearm, (non improved), fitted with a new ortofon 2M 78 cartridge specially designed for playing 78s. Turntable refurbished by Dominic Harper of Northwest Analogue of Preston, Lancashire, UK.
