Matera is known for their ancient cave-dwellings known as the Sassi. This walk will take you through the Sasso Barisano and the Sasso Caveoso districts as well as the Civita. The Sassi of Matera and the nearby Murgia Materana Park were added as an UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1993.
