[Japan] Sir. Thomas Blake Glover of Nagasaki Tribute

This video tries to show you who Sir. Thomas Blake Glover and his family were. Based on the information available to me, Glover was sent to Japan at the time when Japan was changing drastically due to the outside pressure, mainly America/Commodore Perry, who came to Japan in 1853 from the Philippines, an American colony. Because of Perry, the Japanese realized that they needed to readjust their country so that they won’t be invaded and colonized like other non-European nations in the world. Japanese people were mainly split into two groups: pro-Bakufu/no change desired vs. anti-Bakuru/yes change, please. They fought in two civil wars: War in 1868-1869 and War in 1877, struggling to find the way to Westernize/modernize the country. In Scotland, Sir. Glover is called a “Scottish Samurai“; however, as in European countries, in Japan people of a merchant-class would never be able to become a Samurai (a Knight). In any rate, young Glover’s association with Ryoma Sakamoto, Tosa Bushi/a Samurai from Tosa, was simply an amazing encounter for it really changed the history of Japan and the world. If young Glover never met Ryoma, perhaps Meiji Restoration was never possible. Two of the most powerful characters of the time... together shifted the paradigm of the world for the better. By the way, the ammunition Grover was selling to the Japanese/Samurais were the used ammunition of the Civil War in the United States in 1860-1865. Of course, Samurais didn’t know that but that is the way Grover became a super-rich of the era. Enjoy and many thanks for watching... ; D Please give a massive thumbs up and subscribe! My videos are sort of related to each other, so enjoy others as well. P.S.) CORRECTION: in this video, the time A-bomb was dropped on Nagasaki is “11:02 a.m.“
