Sri Durga Apaduddharaka Stotram is a powerful hymn in adoration of Mother Durga that helps one to overcome dangers in life here and hereafter. Apad means Danger and Uddharaka means that helps to overcome. This hymn is from the Siddheswara Tantra and is a part of Umamaheshwara Samvada. Lord Shiva tells this stotra to Goddess Parvati. The Lord assures that whosoever recites this stotram thrice or at least once a day with faith and devotion, will be free from all troubles and difficulties, and be blessed with peace and happiness.

Salutations to Thee, who is the refuge of all, the consort of Lord Shiva, the compassionate One
Salutations to Thee, who pervades the whole universe, the embodiment of Cosmic form |
Salutations to Thee, whose lotus feet is adored by the whole universe
Salutations to Thee who makes us cross the world, may Mother Durga protect us. ||
namaste jagaccintyamānasvarūpe
namaste mahāyogivijñānarūpe ।
namaste namaste sadānanda rūpe
namaste jagattāriṇi trāhi durge ॥2॥
Salutations to Thee, whose form is meditated upon by the world
Salutations to Thee, who is the personification of Supreme Knowledge that’s attained by the great Yogis |
Salutations to Thee, who is verily the embodiment of bliss

anāthasya dīnasya tṛṣṇāturasya
bhayārtasya bhītasya baddhasya jantoḥ ।
tvamekā gatirdevi nistārakartrī

The destitute, the forlorn, the suffering poor
the frightened, those distressed with fear, the living beings that are bound,
the one and only refuge and who possess the power of deliverance O Devi

araṇye raṇe dāruṇe śatrumadhye
jale saṅkaṭe rājagehe pravāte ।
tvamekā gatirdevi nistāra hetur

In the midst of forest, battlefield, frightening situation, enemies
In the midst of waters, danger, king’s fortress, storm,
the one and only refuge and the primary cause of deliverance, O Devi

apāre mahadustare’tyantaghore
vipat sāgare majjatāṃ dehabhājām ।
tvamekā gatirdevi nistāranaukā
namaste jagattāriṇi trāhi durge ॥5॥
The limitless, difficult to cross and frightful ocean
Into which the living beings fall and sink
the one and only refuge to them and the rescuing boat of deliverance, O Devi
Salutations to Thee who makes us cross the world, may Mother Durga protect us. ||
namaścaṇḍike caṇḍordaṇḍalīlā
samutkhaṇḍitā khaṇḍalāśeṣaśatroḥ ।
tvamekā gatirvighnasandohahartrī
namaste jagattāriṇi trāhi durge ॥6॥
Salutations to Mother Chandika who unleashed the punitive play against the demons Chanda and Munda
Who were cut to pieces and that has left with countless pieces of enemies in the battlefield |
The one and only refuge and the destroyer of multitude of impediments, O Devi

nyanekākhilā’krodhanā krodhaniṣṭhā ।
iḍā piṅglā tvaṃ suṣumnā ca nāḍī

The only One adored always for upholding the Truth
Who assume multiple forms, pervades the whole world, the One without anger but fights with anger and firmness |
The One who awakens Ida, Pingala, Sushumna nadis

namo devi durge śive bhīmanāde
sadāsarvasiddhipradātṛsvarūpe ।
vibhūtiḥ satāṃ kālarātrisvarūpe
