China copies Boston Dynamics Big Dog? Or an indigenous design? “Electric Yaks“ the walking robot

A Chinese robotic walking machine is unveiled in Jan 2022, closely resembling Boston Dynamics Big Dog. The machine is called “Electric Yak“, an electrically driven quadruped bionic robot that can overcome rocky terrain. “Electric Yak“ can also overcome some staircases, trenches, rocky surface and slippery surface. It has the largest body shape and the best load and cross-country ability in the world, claimed by the company building the robot. Its maximal speed is 10 kilometers per hour, can carry 160 kilograms, and demonstrates reasonable off road capability. It is claimed to have the autonomous ability easily walk across hills, bushland and snowy area. It is also called a modern version of legendary “wooden cattle and horses“. One key difference between “Electric Yak“ and Big Dog is power source. “Electric Yak“ is powered by batteries. A Chinese robotic armor fighting vehicle is also demonstrated, carrying anti-tank missiles and guns.
