Hurts So Good appeared on Mellencamp’s fifth studio album, American Fool (1982), released under the stage name John Cougar. The song reached Number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and won a Grammy for Best Male Rock Vocal Performance. Mellencamp had not played the song live for 25 years before this current tour.
