Russia Rethinks Its Traditional War Strategy As Ukraine War Eats Through Putin’s Artillery Stock

Russia’s artillery crews are said to be facing logistical deficiencies which is forcing them to break from Kremlin’s long-established doctrine. A report published by the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI) this week said Moscow’s forces are muting the impact of Moscow’s “God of War.“ The deteriorating battlefield conditions, RUSI report says, is forcing Russia to rethink the use of artillery firepower. Artillery, called the “God of War“ by Joseph Stalin for its deadliness, has been the centerpiece of Russia’s offensive in Ukraine. Russia’s firepower traditionally relies on volume over precision which, as per RUSI, has remained true though the first part of Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine. However, that seems to be changing now due to various factors ranging from logistical issues to shortage of ammo and as well as guns. As per RUSI report, “the Russian forces lack the ammunition to sustain this volume of fire.“ #russiaukrainewar #russia #ukraine #ukrainewar #puti
