K. Simmons, Ikuyo Kita, Nijika Ichiji, and Ryo Yamada. Bocchi (Hitori Gotoh) is an ambitious young guitarist, in pursuit of rising to the top of Japan’s elite music industry. Terence Fletcher (J.K. Simmons), an instructor known for his terrifying teaching methods, discovers Bocchi and transfers the aspiring guitarist into a recently formed band, forever changing the young woman’s life. But Bocchi’s passion to achieve her dreams quickly spirals into obsession, as her ruthless teacher pushes her to the brink of her ability and her sanity.
