The song is loosely inspired by Chris’ life, with his mother a long-term survivor of Motor Neurone Disease, and his hard working father who worked most of his life to provide and care for the family. Despite Chris’ mum’s illness, she is always optimistic, and that theme has been captured by Chris through the lyrics of Man On A Wire.
