How to activate snow chain mode in your BMW – BMW How-To

Learn in this video that BMW offers a special ’Snow chain mode’ for BMWs with Integral Active Steering. When driving your BMW with fitted snow chains, rear wheel steering needs to be deactivated to ensure traffic safety and prevent damage to your BMW. In BMWs with Operating System 7 you can deactivate Integral Active Steering by going to: ’CAR’, ’Settings’, ’General settings’, ’Snow chains’, and select ’Snow chains fitted’. Please do not exceed 50 km/h or around 30 mph with snow chains fitted, above that, rear wheel steering will be activated again.
