La leggenda narra che nel sud della Svezia, un giovane cavaliere, Sir Mannelig, fu avvicinato da una strega di montagna che gli chiese la sua mano per spezzare una maledizione e portando con sè una dote di tutto rispetto. Il cavaliere, però, fedele alla sua cristianità, rifiutò la proposta della donna condannandola a vivere con il suo tormento. English A Southern Sweden legend tells the story of a young knight, Sir Mannelig, approached by a witch of mountain. She asked to be married, braking the course and offering him a valuable dowry.
