Heavy Russian self-propelled howitzers Gyacinth-S in action

Artillery crews of 2S5 Gyacinth-Sself-propelled guns of the Central Military District suppressed and destroyed a platoon stronghold of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Avdeevka direction of a special military operation. Having received the coordinates, the crews of the Gyacinth-S guns arrived at the position, aimed at the target identified by the reconnaissance and, with a series of shots, hit the area where the Ukrainian nationalists were located, as well as the positions identified in the forest belt. After completing the fire mission, the Central Military District artillerymen camouflaged their guns and retreated to underground shelters. The Central Military District command emphasizes that, in terms of its tactical and technical characteristics, the Gyacinth-S self-propelled gun is one of the most effective weapons for conducting counter-battery warfare and destroying Ukrainian Armed Forces positions at long distances. It features high precision hits and increased firepower. The Gyacinth-S crews of the Central Military District are capable of hitting the entire range of targets with high efficiency around the clock in various weather conditions. The 152-mm 2S5 Gyacinth-S gun, developed by the Soviet designer of artillery systems Yuri Kalachnikov, belongs to large-caliber artillery and is designed to suppress and destroy enemy personnel, fire weapons, weapons and military equipment on the march, in concentration areas and in strongholds.
