Natural disaster. China is sinking! Hundreds of thousands of people left homeless after flood in Yingde
Record flooding was expected in parts of southern China as heavy rains raised water levels in the Pearl River Delta to their highest level in nearly a century.
Hundreds of thousands of people were evacuated from the most affected parts of the region, including Guangdong.
China’s Ministry of Water Resources has announced the highest level of flood risk in the Pearl River Basin. The water level in one place “surpassed historical records“ and it will affect the provincial capital of Guangzhou.
