Safety Lights (1938)

Titles read: “SAFETY LIGHTS“. Various locations of events. Brief shots of ships at sea; a captain looking through a telescope. Diagram shows the first lighthouse, Ptolemy’s Pharos, built at Alexandria in 300 BC. More diagrams show the location of the Eddystone, 14 miles off Plymouth, where Henry Winstanley, Rudyard (? sp? Rudyerd?) and Smeaton built lighthouses of different materials and designs. These three lighthouses are compared in a diagram with the present lighthouse, built in 1878.
