Ki-Oku (記憶 Kioku) is a 1996 studio album by Japanese hip hop producer DJ Krush and Japanese jazz trumpeter Toshinori Kondo. It peaked at number 12 on the UK Independent Albums Chart. The album consists of 10 proper tracks and 3 short interludes. It also features a cover of “Sun Is Shining“, which was originally written and performed by Bob Marley. So far, it has been their only collaboration and neither musician has revealed plans for a second album. Rick Anderson of AllMusic gave the album 4 stars out of 5, saying, “This is one of those albums that reveals more with repeated listens; if it sounds too easy at first, listen again -- there’s lots of interesting stuff going on beneath what sometimes sounds like a merely pleasant surface.
