F.A. Cup 6th Round - Birmingham City V. Manchester City (1955)

Birmingham. Start of the F.A. (Football Association) Cup 6th round match between Manchester City and Birmingham City. SV. Captains tossing. SV. Crowd. LV. Birmingham City in black shorts kick off. They work ball down towards the Manchester goal. CU. Bert Trautman, the German born goalkeeper, takes a tumble and clears up field. LV. Other end, ball to Roy Clarke who fires in a first time shot, Merrick punches it clear. SV. Crowd. LV. Other end, Manchester attack but a timely tackle by Jimmy Meadows prevents the Birmingham forward from getting in a good shot. Trautman easily clears. SV. Other end, ball to Johnny Hart, he pushes it inside to Clarke. He beats Trevor Smith the young Birmingham centre half. He centres the ball, but one pass too many and ball is cleared. SV. Crowd. LV. Manchester still attacking, Merrick races from his goal right out of the penalty area to clear from Clarke. Clarke does a neat head over heels as Merrick charges him. GV. Crowd. SV. Gordon Astall takes a Birmingham corner. Trautman
