Ahmedabad, located in the Indian state of Gujarat, is the most populous city in the state and serves as the administrative headquarters of the Ahmedabad district. It is also the seat of the Gujarat High Court. The city’s population, as per the 2011 census, makes it the fifth-most populous city in India. Ahmedabad is situated near the banks of the Sabarmati River, 25 km from the state capital, Gandhinagar. Historically, Ahmedabad has been an important economic and industrial hub in India, notably as the second-largest producer of cotton, earning it the nickname ’Manchester of India’ along with Kanpur. The city has a rich cricket culture, with the Narendra Modi Stadium in Motera being the largest stadium in the world by seating capacity. Ahmedabad’s economy has been boosted by the liberalisation of the Indian economy, leading to growth in tertiary sector activities such as commerce, communication, and construction. The city has seen rapid development in housing and skyscrapers due to its growing population. It was ranked third in Forbes’s list of fastest-growing cities of the decade in 2010 and chosen as India’s best city to live in by The Times of India in 2012. The gross domestic product of the Ahmedabad metro area was estimated at $68 billion in 2020. In 2017, the historic city of Ahmedabad, or Old Ahmedabad, was declared a UNESCO World Heritage City. The city’s history dates back to the 11th century when it was known as Ashaval. It was later renamed Ahmedabad after Sultan Ahmad Shah I, who founded the city in the 15th century. Ahmedabad has played a significant role in India’s history, particularly during the Indian independence movement, with Mahatma Gandhi establishing two ashrams that became centers of nationalist activities. 🎉Follow 💫DuckTravel走鴨旅行✨ YouTube: @DuckTravel Instagram: 💥ℹ️Turn ON the Closed Captions (CC) for info about Attractions ! 🗺️Interactive map 📷Shooting Date 2023/11/16 📍Today’s Attractions Jama Masjid Bhadra Fort 🎬Itinerary 00:00 Jama Masjid [Open CC, Turn on Subtitles] 05:02 Gandhi Road [Open CC, Turn on Subtitles] 18:22 Around Bhadra Fort 28:48 Gandhi Road 38:29 Bazar Alley Thank you for watching!
