Alex Rudinger - Opeth - “The Lotus Eater“

Greg and I decided to do a cover of ’The Lotus Eater’ by Opeth. I’m not really sure why, but we did. The two of us have come to find that we enjoy covering songs occasionally and making them as note-for-note as possible with the original. I also figured that it would be one more thing to track at Anup’s place. It came out quite well! I was however a bit unprepared for this song. Anup had already set aside time for me to record one weekend and we didn’t come up with the cover idea until pretty late in the game. It’s a pretty long song with a lot of details. So yes, I did do a few punch-in’s. Additionally, there’s no better way to spend a minute of drum-less video/audio than taking a trip to McDonald’s with your good buddies. Tempo starts at 135 BPM, does some crazy whack stuff in the middle break, and then drops to 110 BPM where it remains for the rest of the song. Full PDF Drum Transcription:
