Giovani ‘Galo de Oro’ Santillan stopped WBO NABO welterweight champion Alexis ‘Lex’ Rocha in the sixth round on Saturday night in the main event on DAZN at the KIA Forum in Inglewood, California. In the co-main event, WBA Continental Americas Super Fly champ John ‘Scrappyi’ Ramirez stopped Ronal Batista in four rounds in a WBA world title fight eliminator. In the main event, WBO NABO Welter champ and No. 1 WBO ranked southpaw Alexis ‘Lex’ Rocha, 23-2 (15), was stopped by southpaw and No. 4 WBO ranked Giovani ‘Galo de Oro’ Santillan, 32-0 (16) at 1:13 of the sixth round of a scheduled 12 rounds. In the first two minutes of the first round, Rocha outworked Santillan. In the final minute, Santillan came back well. In the second round, Santillan drew blood from the nose of Rocha in the first minute as both were throwing the third and fourth rounds, the slugfest continued with non-stop punching from both. In the fifth round, Rocha’s face was covered with blood as Santillan dropped him with half a dozen punches for an 8-count from Referee Ray Corona. Upon rising, both were throwing punches when Rocha missed a left hook and fell to the the sixth round, Santillan landed eleven unanswered head punches and dropped Rocha to his knees as Referee Corona wisely called a halt.
