Caught on Dashcam - Dumpster Lid Destroys Windshield on Freeway

Was I was driving to work I tried to downshift and pass a truck on the left. I was gauging how much room I had coming up for the pass and really didn’t notice the dumpster lid coming loose until it was airborne. By that time I kept down on the throttle in hopes of getting under it but as you can see.. I was unsuccessful. With a face full of glass and half a windshield I was able to pull the truck over and exchange information. The flying lid banged up my hood and of course destroyed the windshield. Tota
