The Ship That Passes... (1931)

Filmed at Pembroke Dock Yard, Dyfed, Wales. Introductory intertitle reads: “In the first days of the war, HMS Birmingham distinguished herself by sinking a German submarine. Today, she stands under the hands of the Shipbreakers.“ M/S of the ship in dock. Various shots of the ship being dismantled. One of the funnels is lifted off. “The steel will be melted down - pumps, etc, will be overhauled and used again, and the timber will make furniture.“ Various shots of men at work on the ship. Man wears goggles as he uses welding equipment to remove part of the ship. C/U of blow torch being used. C/U of worker using a hammer to break up part of ship.
