The Pixies Drummer and his Alternative Job

The Pixies never fully broke through into the chaotic world of super stardom, but they certainly played a major part in influencing the Alternative Rock and Contemporay genres of music. They formed in Boston Massachusetts in 1986, wow that seems like such a long time ago now. They certainly had a unique sound to them and they were able to find a place as an opening act for bigger acts that came to town. There debut album in 1988 entitled Surfer Rosa really shined as a blend of so many odd ball genre’s that it was quite unique in its own way, combining punk, surf and indie rock. They were way ahead of anything that Sirrius XM now has made a channel for those Satelite streamers out there.
