Shakespeare’s First Folio at the University of Glasgow

2023 marks the 400th birthday of The First Folio, the first printed edition of Shakespeare’s collected plays. Watch this short film to find out more about the University of Glasgow’s very special copy, which will make a rare public appearance at the Hunterian Art Gallery on 22 and 23 April. Held in the University of Glasgow Library Archives & Special Collections, it is a complex ‘made up’ volume, formed from combining two or three different imperfect copies to create a whole.
