★ 4K 🇨🇭Cab ride Landquart - Vereina - St Moritz (1250m climb in a locomotive from 1958) []

A little over a year since our first trip along this line during winter, Paolo brings us a second trip during the winter - spring transition of 2021. The highlight of this trip is the locomotive we’re taking, the oldest of the legendary Ge 6/6 II locomotives from 1958, with the number 702. Currently many older RhB locomotives are being put out of service and scrapped as new rolling stock is made available. The ticking sound you’ll hear is typical of older locomotives in Europe - it’s the Swiss made Hasler speedometer, with a built in clock and data recorder. The regular train operating this line can be seen at the start of the video entering the depot. Due to a technical problem, the Ge 6/6 II was able to pull today’s train (quite a rare occurrence).
