3D Characters for 2D Films - Exploration

I have been doing some R&D to see if I can create a 3D character that can blend with my 2D films in a nice way. I want to use it to populate backgrounds and animate ’’extras’’ in my scenes, as doing those traditionally would be very time consuming.
