A history and timeline of the numerous attempts to complete a Ghostbusters trilogy. Notably “Ghostbusters III: Hell-Bent“ and “Ghostbusters: Alive Again!“ Ghostbusters, released in 1984, is one of Columbia Pictures’ highest grossing films ever, and became a cultural phenomenon in it’s own right. Directed by Ivan Reitman, it’s the story of three parapsychologists; Ray Stantz, played by Dan Aykroyd, Egon Spengler, played by the late and great Harold Ramis, and Peter Venkman played by Bill Murray, who are fired from their academic jobs. There’s something strange in the neighbourhood and so they start a private firm, “Ghostbusters.“ They hire a colleague, Winston Zeddemore, played by Ernie Hudson and then they save the world!
