Northern Lights at the Icelandic Volcano - Aurora Borealis at the Eruption in Geldingadalur

Captured just after midnight, April 26 2021, on one of the very few clear nights with northern lights up at the eruption. After a very long day up at the eruption, I checked the “aurora borealis forecast“ - which might be the most Icelandic thing ever - and saw that it was very likely that we would get some northern lights. I ended up staying three more hours to wait for darkness, and had almost given up, when the first green shimmers appeared... As it was very late I only spend a few minutes taking some photos and video before joining the last few leaving the area. But it was totally worth the wait. Video is sped up 2x, to make the motions a bit more clear. ------------------------------------ More photos from the same eruption here: Prints: ------------------------------------- Shot on a Fujif
