State of the Company | 2022

As 2022 wraps up we wanted to highlight progress made in the year and the roadmap ahead. Hermeus founders AJ Piplica, Glenn Case, Skyler Shuford, and Mike Smayda present the ’State of the Company’. The year started strong with a $100 million series B funding round. We’ve grown our world class team to nearly 100 employees and massively built out our facilities to support our leading edge manufacturing capabilities. This confluence of people and hardware has led us to some major technical milestones. We demonstrated turbojet to ramjet mode transition with our engine, Chimera, and finalized the design for our first vehicle, QUARTERHORSE. Quarterhorse will reach Mach 4 speeds and fly in 2024. We also now have our first peek at DARKHORSE, an uncrewed aerial system that will serve defense and intelligence customers. Darkhorse will have multi-mission flexibility, full reusability, and be capable of sustained hypersonic flight – a capacity no country in the world has. We’re developing each of these platforms with our sights set on making commercial hypersonic flight a reality with HALCYON, a passenger aircraft capable of traveling 125 transatlantic routes at Mach 5 speeds. That’s New York to London in 90 minutes. We’re incredibly proud of everything our team has accomplished so far, and excited about what’s to come.
