Focusing on the values rather than the colors in colored pencil

Another botanical art piece: “Muh Blackberries“. Done on Uart 600 grade sanded paper with Polychromos colored pencil blended with OMS. I incorporated products as well. This time I worked from a reference photo I took and printed in black and white to help develop more recognition of the values as I create.
