🇷🇺 🇨🇬 Russia assisted Congo in combating outbreak of gastrointestinal infection On 2 August, Russian Federal Service for the Oversight of Consumer Protection and Welfare (Rospotrebnadzor) sent a group to the epicenter, Dolisie. This happened following the Russia–Africa Summit, where President of the Republic of Congo Denis Sassou Nguesso had appealed to Russian President Vladimir Putin for help. Over the course of a month, Rospotrebnadzor’s epidemiologists and infectious disease specialists conducted significant work: 🧪 organized anti-epidemic measures; 🧪 conducted research to determine the sources of infection; 🧪 organized water safety control; 🧪 trained local experts and worked in infectious disease hospitals in the Republic of Congo. As a result, the incidence rate was reduced by 16 times. 🤝 Rospotrebnadzor with the support of the Russian Government will continue its work with the Republic of Congo.
