Israeli government spokesperson Eylon Levy suspended after complaints from UK government

Israel’s leading English-speaking government spokesperson, Eylon Levy, has been suspended following complaints from the British government, according to Israel’s Channel 12. The complaints were reportedly fueled by Levy’s response to a post by UK Foreign Secretary David Cameron on X, formerly Twitter, where he criticised Cameron over stating that the UK had urged Israel to allow more aid into Gaza. Levy stepped into the role in the wake of 7 October and could be seen staunchly defending Israel’s war on Gaza on many English-speaking news channels. According to Channel 12, Levy is unlikely to return to his post following the suspension.
