JUDASSIME | If We Were Made of Meat | Debut Show

My name is Benjamin Voortmans, I’m a 20 years old designer, performer artist and creative mind behind Judassime. Past years I got refused twice by the well-known Fashion Department of the Royal Academy of Antwerp. This did not stop me from staying in Antwerp to pursue my dream and realize my vision that is Judassime. Today I have the pleasure to present to you my first ever collection, coming from a dark red place in time to the liberation of my mind and heart. The creative process and the inspiration behind this collection is mostly inspired by thematics close to my heart and has pushed me to explore new limits while developing exciting techniques and exploring myself at the same time. « if we were made of meat » is my modern testament, criticizing overconsumption, mass production and above all animal abuse, which miserably have become a normalized part in our daily lives and the fashion industry.
