Iran state media releases video of missiles purportedly launched at Israel on October 1

Iranian state media published footage described as showing missile launches as the country carried out an attack on Israel on October 1. Footage from IRIB news was described as showing missiles being launched during what it called “Operation True Promise II”. “The operation came in response to the regime’s assassinations of Hamas’s chief Ismail Haniyeh, Hezbollah’s leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, and IRGC commander Abbas Nilforooshan,” local media reported. Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Brig Gen Aziz Nasirzadeh told Mehr News Agency the operation “was carried out with more than 90 percent success and was fully in line with international law.” Almost 10 million people took to bomb shelters as 181 missiles were fired at Israel, the Times of Israel reported.
