The ram’s horn, the Shofar, is a reminder of Abraham’s sacrifice of Isaac and GOD’s provision of a ram as a substitute. (Isaac: Who at Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement) is the “Akedah” in the binding of Isaac story about sub-situnary sacrifice!) And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and
