Full title reads “Italy ONCE A FEVER-RIDDEN SWAMP now a prosperous Colony - Il Duce at first anniversary of new City of Littoria, in centre of the Pontine Marshes, rewards 460 of original Settlers.“ Littoria, Pontine Marshes, Italy. Pan across the crowded square at he Italian town of Littoria. Il Duce (Benito Mussolini) walks with his escort through the arch into (probably) Town Hall. Pan across the masses, some giving Fascist salute. Mussolini salutes from balcony. Masses cheer. Mussolini on dais with another man - surrounded by people. The man shouts the names (probably settlers’) and Il Duce gives out the rewards. Duce’s uniform seems to be quite dirty - as if mud was splashed over his jacket. Masses cheer. Natural sound only.
