From her tribute album to the great Count Basie, Keely Swings Strings, here is Keely Smith’s performance of the jazz classic, “How High the Moon,“ written by Morgan Lewis and Nancy Hamilton, first appearing in the 1940 Broadway revue Two for the Show. The album, in which Keely was accompanied by an 18-piece band and a 22-member string orchestra led by pianist/conductor Dennis Michaels, was released by Concord Records in 2002.
