French police break up pro-Palestinian demonstration following ban

프랑스, 친팔레스타인 시위 금지 We begin in France where police used water cannons and tear gas to break up a pro-Palestine demonstration after France issued a nationwide ban on such gatherings. The incident at the Place de la République on Thursday local time saw demonstrators with Palestinian flags chanting that Israel was a murderer. Authorities say around 3-thousand people had gathered, and that ten were arrested. The ban was put in place by France’s interior minister Gérald Darmanin, who said that since the Hamas attack at the weekend, more than 100 anti-Semitic acts have been recorded and people have been arrested for trying to carry knives into synagogues. The minister has said that any foreign nationals breaking the rules, will be deported.
