Palestine Action continues protesting against Elbit systems in Leicester

Since 1 May, pro-Palestinian activist network Palestine Action had been protesting in Leicester, central England, in what it refers to as “siege“, outside a weapons factory called UAV Tactical Systems that is a supplier for the largest Israeli arms company, Elbit Systems. The activists plan to stay “as long as necessary” to shut the factory down. Since the protests began, many, including Palestine Action spokespeople, have been arrested or forced to stay away due to legal issues. Elbit Systems is known primarily for its military drones, which have been used repeatedly in Israeli military operations in the Gaza Strip. It also produces components for the illegal separation wall in the occupied West Bank, artillery, and optical, targeting and navigation components. In 2022 Palestine Action shut down an Elbit factory in Oldham, and just months later permanently shut down the company’s headquarters in London Subscribe to our channel: Middle East Eye Website: Follow us on TikTok: @middleeasteye Follow us on Instagram: Like us on Facebook: Follow us on Twitter:
