Advanced Clinical Case Studies to Improve the Burden of COPD

AMA/ANCC/ACPE Activity Talking COPD is a webcast series that highlights the very latest clinical data in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Slides are developed and presented by leading COPD expert physicians and further reviewed and approved by the planning committee. Talking COPD can be accessed for AMA, ANCC or ACPE credit. COPD is a complex and heterogeneous disease, associated with significant medical, economic, and societal burden, which is predicted to increase over the coming decades. COPD imposes significant impact beyond the lungs, including on quality of life, health status, daily activities, physical activity, and sleep, as well as comorbid anxiety and depression. Given the increasing recognition of, and importance attributed to, patients’ and caregivers’ views and preferences on disease management, it is important to identify and understand their perception of COPD and the individualized impact on their lives. This understanding can help guide clinical decision-making and improve outcomes for patients with COPD.
