Dianas Of Devon - Otter Hunting (1932)

Introductory intertitle reads: “There are some cynics in this world who imply that Eve is always hunting - Adam! In this case, however, her quarry is the Otter.“ A woman poses in front of a car holding a large stick. A large group of women and several Beagle dogs are seen through an archway. The hunt sets off with the women all wearing hats and carrying sticks. Shots of the Beagles crossing a river and climbing a small ladder. The women follow, climbing over walls and sliding down hillsides. People look on as an Otter is cornered (we do not see the kill). Shot of a man lifting the dead Otter above her head in a country lane with dogs and men around her. C/U of the Beagles. A woman and four men in hunting outfits smoke and laugh. Shot of people walking away from camera down a country lane. Some of the sequences could be used to illustrate hiking as well as hunting. FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ.
