The Electron Transport Chain Explained (Aerobic Respiration)

In this fourth video of our series on aerobic respiration, we will learn about the electron transport chain (ETC). This is quite a remarkable stage in cellular respiration and is the reason why you need to breathe in oxygen. Explore how mitochondria generate and use a hydrogen ion gradient to power ATP synthase and generate a lot of ATP, the energy that powers cells. This goes along with the Respiration Interactive activity at BioMan Biology, so you might want to start there: Credits: music from Traffic picture: The Los Angeles Times
