Another from my old collection of 78’s. Teddy Bunn was (in my opinion) one of the best of the early blues/guitar performers and played with many of the top-line bands before and after WWII.
This recording, made in the ’Bluebird’ studios, New York, in 1938 has him playing and singing with the Mezzrow/Ladnier Quintet; which comprised:- Mezz Mezzrow; clt. Tommy Ladnier; tpt. Teddy Bunn; gtr. Pops Foster; bss. and Manzie Johnson; dms.
I can’t find a photograph of Manzie (, ) anywhere, -sorry about that! Also, I must apologise for the surface noise but, after all, this was one of my favourites (purchased in the late 1940’s) and got much use.
Having just checked this posting, I see that YouTube have ONCE AGAIN clipped the ending, don’t blame me!
